On behalf of the pier group, many thanks to everyone in Collieston who contributed to yesterday’s successful visit from the party of young civil engineers from Delft University. Thanks are also due to engineering company Royal Haskoning who provided the transport to take the group up from Edinburgh for the day and who also made available the services of one of their members of staff for the visit. It was very encouraging to hear the range of ideas which were generated by two dozen keen young minds! We now hope that Delft University may consider the pier’s future as a possible study project for a small group of students. We hope to hear more over the course of the next few months.
